GAC Australia has introduced a new entry-level EMZOOM Premium variant, priced from $22,990 driveaway nationwide until September 30.

The new grade lowers the point of entry into the EMZOOM small SUV range by $4000 compared with the Luxury, which is listed from $26,990 driveaway.

It also shifts the EMZOOM into one of the lowest-priced new SUV positions in the Australian market, with vehicles available to order now ahead of dealership arrivals from early September.

The EMZOOM Premium joins the existing Luxury variant in GAC’s local range.

Power comes from the same 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 125kW at 5500rpm and 270Nm from 1400 to 4500rpm.

It is matched with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

GAC lists combined fuel consumption at 6.6L/100km, with urban consumption of 8.5L/100km and extra-urban consumption of 5.4L/100km.

Standard equipment for the Premium includes a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, artificial leather seats, automatic air-conditioning and a six-speaker audio system.

The entry model also includes rain-sensing front wipers, LED automatic headlights, 17-inch tyres, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and autonomous emergency braking.

The EMZOOM measures 4410mm long, 1850mm wide and 1600mm tall, with a 2650mm wheelbase.

Boot capacity is listed at 341 litres with the rear seats up, expanding to 1271 litres with the rear seats folded.

White is the standard exterior colour at no extra cost, while a surcharge applies to non-white paint options.

The EMZOOM Premium is backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

GAC EMZOOM pricing is listed as driveaway, meaning it includes on-road costs.

The $22,990 driveaway price for the Premium applies nationwide until September 30.
