Ahead of its scheduled debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16, the 2025 Subaru Forester has been prematurely revealed through leaked images.

These images, circulating on platforms like Instagram and Imgur, showcase the vehicle's interior and exterior.

The sixth-generation Forester sports a bolder and boxier design, featuring a larger grille and integrated headlights for a wider appearance.

The mechanical aspects of the new Forester remain undisclosed. Engine options in the current model include a 2.0-litre hybrid, a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated flat-four, and a 1.8-litre flat-four turbo in Japan. There may also be the addition of an 'XT' Turbo variant, though this remains to be seen.

In Australia, the Forester is Subaru's best-selling model, with over 13,000 units sold in the current year. The current model, introduced in 2018 and refreshed in 2021, will be succeeded by this new generation.

The leaked images suggest that the Forester, primarily aimed at the American market, might have variations for other regions. The new design echoes the Crosstrek's update and draws inspiration from the Ascent SUV, sporting a more robust look.

The new Forester's dimensions compared to the current model are unclear, but its design suggests a slightly longer vehicle.

The rear design is cleaner, with connected rear lights, and the interior features a large 11.6-inch infotainment display, likely supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.

However, it retains analog dials for the instrument cluster, which is dissapointing.

In summary, the new 2025 Subaru Forester has been unveiled through leaked images, featuring a bolder design and updated interior, with details about its powertrain and dimensions still under wraps.

Matt Brand
I’m Matt, the Founder and CEO of CarSauce. I kicked things off back in 2020 with "Matt Brand Cars," back when it was just me and a camera trying to change how car reviews were done. Before I traded the corporate suit for steering wheels, I worked in management consulting at KPMG and in the aviation industry after finishing my Commerce degree at Melbourne Uni.‍ That business background helped me turn a passion project into what CarSauce is today, but my real goal is to make sure our reviews stay entertaining and honest. When I’m not deep in car specs, I’m usually on camera trying to keep Jacob in line - though, as you’ve probably seen, that’s easier said than done!
