Chery Group will add another brand to its Australian portfolio in early 2027, with iCAUR confirmed for a local launch led by the V25 electric SUV.

Founded in 2023, iCAUR is positioned as a lifestyle-focused new energy brand with SUV products built around boxy styling, digital cabin technology and driver assistance systems.

The V25 will be the first iCAUR model offered in Australia, giving the brand an entry point into the local SUV market as Chinese manufacturers continue to expand their presence.

The local announcement follows earlier confirmation that Chery’s iCar brand would be sold here as iCAUR.

Australian specification details, pricing and final launch timing for the V25 have not yet been confirmed.

What we know so far

The iCAUR V25 is described as an electric SUV developed for urban use and driving beyond sealed roads, though no local drivetrain, battery, range or dimension details have been released.

Kate Gillis, Head of Brand, iCAUR Australia, said the brand would form part of Chery Group’s longer-term local growth plans.

“Australia is one of Chery Group’s most important international markets, and we’re delighted to introduce iCAUR as the next step in our long-term growth strategy,” said Gillis.

“iCAUR brings a new energy to the market, combining striking design with advanced EV technology and a playful, user-centric spirit.”

Gillis said Australian buyers had shown interest in vehicles combining style, technology and capability.

“The V25 has been developed to meet those expectations while bringing a distinctive personality that will appeal to customers looking for something different,” said Gillis.

“As we continue expanding our portfolio, iCAUR will allow us to reach a new generation of buyers who value adventure, individuality and innovation.”

The V25 will be shown publicly in Australia for the first time at Everything Electric Sydney between 18 and 20 September.

More details on the local line-up, equipment and pricing are due closer to the vehicle’s arrival.
