Hyundai have launched a seven-year, unlimited kilometre warranty, automatically covering their entire range of new passenger cars offered in Australia, but with accompanying price increases depending on the model. 

The new warranty is backdated to vehicles registered from June 1st, provided that all servicing was carried out at an authorised Hyundai dealer and to its specified servicing schedule as per the warranty’s conditions. 

While not eligible for the seven-year warranty, customers servicing their vehicle outside the Hyundai dealer network are still eligible for the five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty. 

The seven-year warranty does not apply to either the Hyundai Staria Load or commercial vehicles. Instead, the Staria Load and commercial people movers receive five years or 160,000km. Commercial passenger vehicles have a five-year, 130,000km warranty. 

The high-voltage battery also retains its eight-year, 160,000km warranty. 

However, with the addition of the seven-year warranty, price increases have followed. 

The Sonata, Venue, Kona, Kona HEV, Tucson, Santa Fe, Staria, and Staria Load have each increased by $250 before on-road costs. 

Coupled with European factory sourcing and the implications of NVES, the petrol N models have seen more substantial increases. 

The i30 Sedan N has seen a price increase of $1,000, while the i20 N and i30 N Hatch have risen by $2,000 before on-road costs. 

Prices have not been affected for the Palisade, Inster, IONIQ 5, IONIQ 5 N, IONIQ 6, IONIQ 9 and Kona EV.
