The Leapmotor C10 has received an over-the-air update in Australia, with the mid-size SUV gaining improved safety systems and tech features, including a form of smartphone mirroring for Android devices.
When the C10 first arrived in Australia in November last year, it debuted without Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Neither could be added via an over-the-air update, as the model lacks the required hardware to run either program.

The latest update – which applies to all variants of the C10 – sees the addition of QDLink, an application that allows for screen mirroring for Android devices onto the C10’s infotainment display. However, this requires the installation of the QDLink app onto the owners Android device in order to access the functionality. No support has been announced at this stage for Apple devices.
Digital key sharing has been added to the Leapmotor smartphone app, allowing the owner and two additional users with a Leapmotor account to lock, unlock remotely control features such as the climate control settings, and view energy consumption and vehicle positioning data.

Integrated 360-degree dashcam recording has also been added by the update, which uses the C10’s around-view monitor cameras to save footage to a USB.
The user interface has been updated as well, with the addition of passenger climate and mirror heating controls to the dock bar, as well as new voice control commands.
Navigation updates include additional languages, an “avoid tolls” option, clearer place names and addresses sent from mobile devices, and improved 3D route visibility.

Radio station streaming is also included among the list of updates, with the addition of the Radioline streaming service.
The C10’s ADAS safety suite has also improved with refined Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centring sensors, more sensitive Lane Keep Assist, softened and shortened audio alerts, and relocated fault icons for the Driver Drowsiness Alert and Attention Detection Warning to the digital instrument cluster.

Most ADAS switches can be operated while in either ‘Drive’ or ‘Reverse’, as previously the safety systems could only be adjusted while the C10 was in ‘Park.’
Furthermore, a new memory setting, allowing drivers to save customised ADAS and driving mode presets, can be activated via a button on the steering wheel.
To install the updates, owners will need to connect their C10 to Wi-Fi to download the update before installing it via the user interface.
