Nissan has unveiled the Navara PRO-4X Warrior Concept during the global debut of the new Navara D27. The concept previews the direction of the next-generation Warrior model being developed in partnership with Australian engineering firm Premcar.

The concept sits above the new PRO-4X grade and introduces a suite of off-road-focused modifications. Nissan says it represents design and engineering thinking under evaluation for a future production Warrior.
Lifted suspension with Lava Red-finished front coil springs and dampers forms part of the concept’s chassis changes. A wider track and 32.2-inch all-terrain tyres contribute to increased stability and ground clearance.

Premcar has tuned the suspension for both loaded and unloaded conditions as part of its established local development process. This mirrors the approach used across previous Warrior models sold in Australia.
A comprehensive protection package includes a redesigned bullbar with body-coloured wings, extended front overriders and integrated fender flare extensions. The underbody is covered by a multi-stage bash plate system finished in Lava Red.
Additional functional elements include aftermarket driving lamps with Lava Red detailing and dual rear recovery points. According to the concept brief, each of these components has been added for capability enhancement rather than decorative purposes.
CarSauce believes that the next-gen Warrior will launch with the same engine as in the all-new Nissan Navara, and shared with the Mitsubishi Triton. The 2.4L bi-turbo four-cylinder engine outputs 150kW of power and 470Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior changes extend to Warrior-specific decals, a black sport bar with Lava Red branding and PRO-4X fender flares featuring additional accenting. The concept also includes a tub liner, tailgate assist and Warrior-branded interior headrests.

Premcar CEO and Engineering Director Bernie Quinn said the concept draws directly from feedback gathered since the Warrior program began in 2019. “This concept explores how we can apply six years of Warrior learnings and customer feedback to the advanced D27 platform,” he said.
Quinn also highlighted the engineering foundations of the new Navara. “The new Navara provides an exceptional foundation with its redesigned chassis and rugged sophisticated suspension architecture,” he said.

Nissan Oceania Managing Director Andrew Humberstone described the Warrior program as a major local initiative for the brand. “The Nissan Warrior program represents one of Nissan Australia’s most successful initiatives of the past decade,” he said.
Humberstone also confirmed that more details on timing will come next year, stating, “We’ll have more to share on the timing for the Warrior program next year.”

The Warrior program began with the Navara N-Trek Warrior in 2019 and has since expanded to include the SL Warrior, PRO-4X Warrior and Patrol Warrior. All Warrior models undergo local remanufacturing at Premcar’s Victorian facilities.
The production version of the next-generation Warrior will be based on the new Navara D27 platform. Nissan will announce detailed specifications, pricing and launch timing closer to its local introduction.
