Kia has revealed full details of the PV5, the first model under its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) business strategy, at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. The PV5 is a mid-sized Car Derived Van (CDV) designed for modular adaptability, available in Passenger, Cargo, and Chassis Cab configurations. It features a range of up to 400 km and a 30-minute fast-charging capability.

Built on Kia’s E-GMP.S platform, the PV5 offers flexible body configurations with a focus on product, manufacturing, and software innovation. Kia’s EVO Plant will handle production, with a dedicated conversion center supporting custom configurations backed by warranty and predictive maintenance services.

The PV5 incorporates Kia’s Android Auto-based infotainment system with business-specific applications and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Additional features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power external devices.

Sales will begin in Korea and Europe in late 2025, expanding to other markets in 2026. Statement from Kia: "Kia Australia has its hand up to receive as many new EV models as possible including PV5 however, it hasn’t been confirmed for Australia as yet."
