Kia Corporation has released a set of teaser video clips of its upcoming Kia EV9, the brand's dedicated battery electric SUV. The EV9 is expected to accelerate Kia's transformation into a sustainable mobility solutions provider in the era of electrification.

The teaser video showcases a silhouette of the flagship SUV model, featuring its prominent front and sleek body surfaces. The video also gives a preview of the EV9's sleek and sculptural design and confident and assertive geometry.

The name "EV9" comes from Kia's EV nomenclature, pairing the prefix "EV" (electric vehicle) with the number "9" (nine), representing the model's segment among Kia's dedicated electric vehicle lineup.

Like the Kia EV6, the EV9 is built upon the company's dedicated battery electric vehicle platform, Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Kia will fully reveal both the exterior and interior design in mid-March, with the product information being fully disclosed during the Kia EV9 World Premiere in late March.

Matt Brand
I’m Matt, the Founder and CEO of CarSauce. I kicked things off back in 2020 with "Matt Brand Cars," back when it was just me and a camera trying to change how car reviews were done. Before I traded the corporate suit for steering wheels, I worked in management consulting at KPMG and in the aviation industry after finishing my Commerce degree at Melbourne Uni.‍ That business background helped me turn a passion project into what CarSauce is today, but my real goal is to make sure our reviews stay entertaining and honest. When I’m not deep in car specs, I’m usually on camera trying to keep Jacob in line - though, as you’ve probably seen, that’s easier said than done!
