Jaecoo J7 and J5 SUVs Coming to Australia in 2025

Jaecoo J7 and J5 SUVs Coming to Australia in 2025

Jaecoo is set to introduce its brand to Australia in early 2025 with the launch of the J7, a mid-sized SUV offering 2WD and AWD options. The J7 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with outputs of 137 kW and 275 Nm torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The J7 will offer seating for up to five adults and includes various features, such as a 14.8-inch vertically oriented LCD touchscreen, 19-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlamps. It will also come equipped with seven selectable drive modes designed for a range of driving environments. Jaecoo lists several safety and convenience features, including a 360° panoramic camera, eight airbags (with a driver’s knee airbag), wireless smartphone charging, power-adjustable front seats, and an electric tailgate.

The compact J5 model, revealed recently at the International User Summit in Wuhu, China, is expected to be introduced to the Australian market following the J7. Jaecoo states that the J5 is designed as a compact SUV with a focus on everyday functionality and practicality.

The J5’s exterior includes a grille that flows into slim headlights and a rear lightbar integrating the taillights. The vehicle will feature independent suspension, aiming to provide a balance of ride comfort on both urban and longer drives.

The interior of the J5 includes a 13.2-inch touchscreen with entertainment and navigation features. Additionally, the vehicle will offer a 1.45 m² panoramic sunroof. The model includes seats with extended design for pet comfort, a feature highlighted by Jaecoo for pet owners.

Jaecoo plans to release further specifications and pricing for the J7 closer to its Australian launch in Q1 2025. Specifications for the J5 model in Australia are yet to be confirmed.
