Hyundai Motor Company has announced the global launch of its updated i30 Sedan N, marking the eighth anniversary of its performance-driven N brand.

First introduced to car enthusiasts in 2021, the i30 Sedan N, known elsewhere as Avante N in South Korea and Elantra N in other parts of the world, has played a significant role in the N brand's growing popularity in the United States and Australia. Its recent debut at Auto Shanghai 2023 emphasises Hyundai's intent to expand into the bustling Chinese market.

A major highlight of this refreshed model is its refined technological capabilities. Borrowing innovations from motorsport competitions, Hyundai ensures the car offers enhanced high-performance handling, increased safety, and superior comfort. This evolution embodies Hyundai's core principles for vehicle development: Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar.

Beneath the bonnet, the vehicle boasts a 2.0T GDi engine combined with a 6 MT / 8 DCT transmission. This powerful pairing promises a maximum output of 206kW, torque reaching up to 392Nm, and a top speed of 280 km/h. For improved agility, Hyundai has made upgrades including a fortified engine mount membrane, refined rear suspension, and a restructured steering system.

Aerodynamically, the i30 Sedan N promises improved airflow without sacrificing cooling capabilities. Features include a duct-style air guard, a wing-type spoiler, and a motorsport-inspired front bumper air guide to enhance braking.

Visually, the car presents a prominent black trim and bold bumper design, along with characteristic side and rear enhancements that underline its high-performance spirit. The interior showcases an N-specific steering wheel, state-of-the-art infotainment systems, and signature sport bucket seats.

In celebration of its rich motorsport heritage and the N brand's milestone, Hyundai has released a special performance film dedicated to the i30 Sedan N. Hyundai's foray into the Chinese market showcases their ambition to further fortify their brand in Asia's major high-performance vehicle market.

Aussie car lovers can look forward to the arrival of the new i30 Sedan N on local shores by early 2024.
