More evidence has emerged that Hyundai will turn its N Vision 74 hydrogen fuel-cell concept car into a production car.
CarSauce has discovered blurred images of what is believed to be a pre-production version of the N74 electric performance coupe being shown next to the concept car – buried within a short online documentary video posted by Hyundai.
Viewers are shown a rare look inside Hyundai’s highly secretive research and development centre in South Korea, with much of the secretive work hidden by a blur effect.

However, at one point it shows the N Vision 74 concept car on a turntable in the centre’s exhibition hall, being compared to a red vehicle with a near identical coupe shape.
A frame taken from the video also shows a glimpse of the front-end, mimicking the design of the concept car – even down to its aggressive angled front spoiler.
Another screengrab from the video shows the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe – one of the company’s first models, and inspiration for the N Vision 74 – being driven on the open road.

While little is known about the production version of the N Vision 74, it’s believed the vehicle will be based on an electric platform, and won’t use hydrogen fuel-cell technology – as in the concept.
What we do know is, in August 2023, a trademark for ‘Hyundai N74’ was registered by the carmaker.

Almost exactly one year later, at the 2024 CEO Investor Day, Hyundai showed a slide confirming a “High-performance EV: Hyundai N (vision 74) / Genesis Magma” was set to be launched before 2030.
Magma is the name of the new high-performance arm of Genesis – Hyundai Group’s luxury brand.

It’s not clear whether the Genesis Magma model is a separate vehicle, or if it’s based on the Hyundai N74.
Curiously, the video also shows a Hyundai employee sitting in a mysterious convertible, with a flat-top steering wheel – matching that found on the Kia EV3 – and front seats with padding similar to the Hyundai Inster city car.
Despite the company having never produced an open-top model in the past, and there being no evidence to date of a Hyundai N74 convertible being in development, the two-door coupe body of the N74 would certainly lend itself to being offered as a convertible – perhaps even under the Genesis brand.
