Former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are said to be returning to television screens, thanks to a new show from Amazon.

According to UK media, the team is working on a new show called The Not Very Grand Tour, which will make its debut in mid-April 2025.

The show is simply described as being a ‘motoring comedy documentary series’.

But while the British Board of Film Classification lists Clarkson, Hammond, and May as cast members, RadioTimes.com claims the project won’t be a road-trip format like The Grand Tour.

According to the report, Hammond and May will instead be reminiscing about their previous adventures – suggesting it could be more akin to a clip show.

The description of the first instalment, titled The Glory and The Power, reads: 'In this episode, the team celebrate the combustion engine, with a look back at footage from past adventures and test drives.'

The last episode of The Grand Tour aired on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service in September 2024, bringing an end to the trio’s 22-year partnership.

The news comes after Hammond and May appeared in a YouTube video on James May’s Planet Gin – a channel supporting May’s own gin company – in which the two return to the old on-site Top Gear production offices located at the Dunsfold Aerodrome.

Meanwhile, a fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm was confirmed by Jeremy Clarkson in November – with season four set to debut on Prime Video in May 2025.

The Grand Tour is also widely reported to be returning in the future with an all-new cast.
