The 2026 Nissan Navara is set to be globally unveiled in Australia on the 19th of November, 2025, with the long-running ute model’s fifth-generation slated for arrival on Australian shores in the first half of next year.
Official details remain scarce, but the new Nissan Navara will be based on the current-generation Mitsubishi Triton, which went on sale almost two years ago in Australia, launching in February 2024.

A teaser video released by Nissan reveals styling cues similar to its Triton sibling, including its front-end, daytime running light, and sailplane design.
While bearing similarities to the Triton, the Navara’s design will also incorporate “design elements that pay homage to previous generations,” according to a media release from Nissan.

The new Navara is expected to use the same 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel engine as the Triton – producing 150kW and 470Nm – which will likely be paired with the same six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual.
It will also likely be available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, with the latter possibly offered with a mechanically locking rear differential and Mitsubishi’s Super Select II permanent 4WD system.

Super Select II allows the Navara’s relative to be driven on paved surfaces with all four wheels driven, unlike some rivals, including the Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-Max and Mazda BT-50.
The Navara is also expected ditch the coil-sprung rear suspension in favour of the leaf-sprung setup used in the Triton.
Full pricing and specifications for the 2026 Nissan Navara are yet to be officially confirmed, but are expected closer to its Australian launch.
