Australian pricing and specifications have been confirmed for the 2026 GWM Ora, starting from $35,990 drive away, with the first deliveries expected in early September.

Previously built in China, the updated GWM Ora is now built in the same factory in Thailand that once produced the Holden Colorado and the Holden Trailblazer.

The Ora range has been streamlined for the new model year, with the 48kWh and 63kWh batteries replaced by a single 57.7kWh LFP battery option – supporting 6kW output Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability – offered across all three trim levels.

“As technology continues to advance, we’ve seen customer demand increasingly favour the higher-range specification. To align with this trend and reduce complexity across the line-up, we’ve moved to a single battery option that we believe best meets the needs of all of our customers,” said a GWM spokesperson.

“By streamlining the range with an LFP battery, we’ve also been able to position the vehicle at a price point that we feel will resonate well with the market.”

The price of the entry-level Ora – now badged as the Lux trim level – remains the same. However, because of the new battery, its WLTP range has increased from 310km to 400km.

Slotting into the middle of the Ora range is the limited-edition Ultra, with a run of just 30 cars.

Painted in Aurora Green and adding additional equipment over the Lux variant, such as driver’s seat memory, a panoramic sunroof, a kick-sensing electric tailgate, a heated steering wheel, front parking sensors and auto parking assist, the Ultra variant is priced at $37,990 drive away.

The Ora GT – the top trim level – has actually seen its WLTP driving range reduced as a result of the smaller battery, down to 380km compared to 400km in the previous GT and 420km in the discontinued Extended Range variant.

However, GWM have offset the range reduction with a significantly reduced price compared to the outgoing GT, down from $43,990 drive away to $38,990 drive away.

All variants of the 2026 GWM Ora produce 126kW and 250Nm, achieving 0-100km/h in 9.0 seconds.

Aside from adjustments to the model lineup and an updated battery, the Ora has also received a host of additional upgrades, including live charge monitoring and scheduled charging through the GWM telematics app, a more efficient heat pump A/C system, and the addition of USB-C charging.

The 2026 GWM Ora has also retained its five-star ANCAP safety rating.
