2026 GWM H6GT Hi4 PHEV Price and Specs

GWM Australia has launched the updated H6GT Hi4 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), featuring a price reduction and mechanical enhancements.

The new model arrives with a driveaway price of $52,990, which is a $3,000 decrease compared to the previous variant's launch price.

While the coupe-SUV exterior remains largely unchanged, the vehicle debuts GWM’s Hi4 intelligent all-wheel-drive system.

This new powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with dual electric motors to produce 321kW and 642Nm.

The 0–100km/h acceleration time has improved to 4.6 seconds, down from the previous model's 4.9-second claim.

A 35.43kWh battery continues to provide an electric-only driving range of up to 183km under NEDC testing.

The interior has undergone a significant redesign to address previous criticisms regarding the infotainment system.

A larger 14.6-inch HD touchscreen replaces the old 12.3-inch unit and runs the new Coffee OS interface.

This system introduces wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a feature that was previously restricted to a wired connection.

The centre console has been simplified by moving the gear selector to the steering column.

This layout change provides more storage space and a dedicated wireless phone charging pad.

Suede-appointed seats with ‘GT’ embossing remain a standard feature in the cabin.

GWM reports that electrified variants now make up 51.5% of total H6GT sales in Australia.

The H6GT PHEV currently holds a 3.3% share of the local plug-in hybrid segment.

The brand was the second-largest seller of PHEVs in the country during March 2026.

Despite the focus on the hybrid, the petrol-only H6GT variant will continue to be sold alongside the new Hi4 model.

The H6GT PHEV is backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with the battery covered for eight years or 160,000km.
