Prices for the 2026 Geely Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV have been leaked ahead of its Australian launch, reportedly starting from $39,990 before on-road costs.

Originally slated to be confirmed at its Australia launch in September, prices for the Starray EM-i – the brand’s second car to launch locally – have been leaked on the vehicle valuations database, Redbook.

The leaked prices see the entry-level Complete trim level undercut the starting price of the BYD Sealion 6, taking the title of Australia’s second cheapest PHEV, only outpriced by the Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid

The Complete model grade comes as standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 15.4-inch infotainment display and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a full ADAS safety suite, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (the latter offered from 2026 via an Over-the-air updated), a six-speaker sound system, two USB-A and USB-C ports, and power-adjustable seats with first-row heating.

The Inspire trim level – reportedly priced at $42,990 before on-road costs – adds 19-inch alloy wheels, 256-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats in the front row, driver’s seat memory, front parking sensors, a power tailgate with a manual tailgate override, a 13.4-inch heads-up display, a 16-speaker sound system, a central armrest in the second row and wireless phone charging.

Both variants of the Geely Starray EM-i are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine – producing 73kW and 125Nm – paired with an electric motor – making 160kW and 262Nm – and an 18.4 kWh battery.

Geely claims a fuel consumption figure of 2.4L/100km and an electric-only WLTP driving range of 83km, with a combined range of 943km on the WLTP cycle

Customers taking delivery of their Starray EM-i by November 30th 2025 can have their deposits matched up to $1,000 until September 30th.
