Chery Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for the new 2026 Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid SUVs, both set to go on sale locally in July. The Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid will start from $39,990 drive-away, while the larger Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid will begin at $45,990 drive-away.

Both models feature a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor. The petrol engine delivers 105kW and 215Nm, while the electric motor produces 150kW and 310Nm, sending power to the front wheels via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

The hybrid systems support four modes — pure electric, series, parallel, and energy recovery — and the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 can drive up to 93km and 95km, respectively, on electric power alone under the NEDC cycle. Combined hybrid driving range is up to 1,200km on a full battery and fuel tank.

Charging from 30 to 80 percent takes around 20 minutes using a DC fast charger at up to 40kW. Above 30% battery level, both vehicles can run in EV mode at speeds up to 120km/h.

The Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid will be offered in two grades: Urban, which will go on sale at $39,990 drive-away, and Ultimate, at $43,990 drive-away. Key features on the Urban include 18-inch alloy wheels, 12.3-inch twin LCD displays, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and 8 airbags.

The Ultimate variant adds features such as a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a Sony eight-speaker sound system, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera.

The larger Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid is also available in two variants: Urban, for $45,990 drive-away, and Ultimate, for $49,990 drive-away. The Urban grade includes 19-inch wheels, a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, 10-speaker sound system, 50W wireless charger, and 9 airbags.

The Tiggo 8 Ultimate adds a head-up display, massage function for the driver’s seat, heated/ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and illuminated scuff plates.

Safety features are extensive across both models, with multiple airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keeping assistance included as standard.

Both vehicles are covered by Chery’s 7-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, along with 7 years of capped price servicing and roadside assistance.
