The 2026 BYD Atto 2 will be arriving in Australia in final quarter of this year (October to December).
Originally launched in China in March 2024 as the BYD Yuan Up and later in Europe as the Atto 2, the small electric SUV rides on the same e-Platform 3.0 shared with such vehicles as the BYD Seal, Sealion 7, Dolphin and its bigger brother, the Atto 3.

The Atto 2 will be offered in two trim levels on its Australian release – Essential and Premium – both sending 130kW and 290Nm to the front wheels with electric power sourced from a 51.13kWh blade battery.
BYD says the Atto’s suspension has been tuned for smoothness, with a Macpherson strut setup at the front and a torsion beam at the rear of the car.

The exterior design – handled by BYD’s in-house design team under the stewardship of Wolfgang Egger – sports several key features including LED headlights, flush door handles, a rear spoiler and a full-width rear light-bar.
The Atto 2’s key features include a panoramic sunroof, a multifunction steering wheel, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, synthetic leather seats, either a 10.1 or 12.8-inch infotainment touch screen, vehicle-to-load functionality, NFC digital key passes and adaptive cruise control.

Additionally, the Atto 2 comes with a list of safety features, including ADAS, six airbags and either a reversing or 360-degree camera depending on the chosen spec.
Prices are set to be confirmed closer to the Atto 2’s Australian release, but speculation and its position in the BYD range relative to the larger Atto 3 suggest that prices will likely range between $30,000 and $40,000 before on-road costs.
