Australian pricing and specifications for the 2026 Audi Q5 and SQ5 Sportback are set to be released shortly, following the local launch of its SUV counterpart.
The Q5 Sportback was confirmed for a late-2025 release in Australia back in July, and while Audi remains coy on its pricing and specifications, further details will be released in the coming months.

“We’re not in a position today to tell you pricing and specification for [the Q5 Sportback],” said an Audi spokesperson at the Australian launch of the Q5 and SQ5 SUV. “But they should be in dealers before the end of the year, and in the next few months, we’ll be sending out some information about this car….”
The second iteration of the Q5 and SQ5 Sportback went on sale in Europe late last year, with the entry-level TFSI variant priced above its SUV counterpart by €2,500 (around $4,500) at €54,800 (around $97,800).

Should the proportional price increase between the Q5 and Q5 Sportback remain the same as the previous generation, the new Sportback will start from around $95,000.
The three powertrain options at launch feature identical specifications to those offered with the current Q5 and SQ5 range in Australia, with each utilising Audi’s 48v Mild Hybrid Plus system – producing 18kW and 230Nm – and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

The entry-level TFSI variant features front-wheel drive and a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 150kW and 340Nm, with Quattro all-wheel drive offered as an option in Europe.
The TDI slots into the middle of the range, with 150kW and 450Nm and is offered only with Quattro all-wheel drive.

The SQ5 – priced at €85,400 (around $152,400) – is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 producing 270kW and 550Nm.
The Q5 and Q5 Sportback are also currently offered in Europe in e-hybrid PHEV guise – with an output of either 220kW or 270kW – with prices for the Sportback starting from €65,900 (around $117,700).

The Q5 e-hybrid SUV has already been all but confirmed for Australia, displayed as an upcoming model on the Audi Australia website, leaving the door open for the Sportback PHEV to follow suit.
Engine offerings have historically differed between the Q5 and Q5 Sportback, with the entry-level front-wheel drive diesel being excluded from the latter’s lineup in the previous model generation.
This trend may continue for the entry-level TFSI for the current generation, although this remains unconfirmed.
