Three all-new 2025 MG ZS variants will soon go on sale in Australia, priced from $26,990 drive-away.

Joining the ZS Excite Hybrid+ and ZS Essence Hybrid+, buyers can now choose three petrol-only variants from the ZS range – the ZS Excite, the ZS Essence, and the ZS Turbo Essence.

Entry into the ZS club is $4000 more than the previous base model from MG, however the new ZS now features autonomous emergency braking – which will soon be mandatory on all cars sold new in Australia.

For less than $27,000 drive-away, ZS Excite buyers get keyless entry and start, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation, and a reversing camera, as well as 16-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping up to the ZS Essence gets a synthetic leather interior with power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with 360-degree cameras, and 17-inch alloy wheels – all for $29,990 drive-away.

Both the ZS Excite and Essence are powered by a 1.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder engine making 81kW and 140Nm, driving the front wheels through a CVT automatic transmission.

Fuel consumption is a claimed 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres (combined).

The ZS Turbo Essence is priced from $31,990 drive-away, and is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 125kW and 275Nm, with fuel consumption increases slightly to 6.9L/100km.

Buyers also get a set of 18-inch alloy wheels with the Turbo Essence.

The ZS Turbo Essence is $2000 more than the previous ZST Essence, but power is up 10kW and 45Nm on the older three-cylinder engine, while also being more fuel efficient.

As with the rest of the range, MG offers a factory 10-year/250,000km warranty.

MG says it will announce full features and specifications for the new ZS range closer to its launch in February, but buyers can register their interest on the MG website now by clicking here.
