GWM has expanded the Tank 300 lineup in Australia with the introduction of a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel variant. The new diesel powertrain delivers 135kW of power and 480Nm of torque, paired with an in-house developed nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Tank 300 diesel is available in two grades: Lux and Ultra, priced at $47,990 and $51,990 drive-away, respectively. The diesel variant retains the model’s off-road focus, offering standard features like a rear differential lock, all-terrain mode selection, and a 700mm wading depth.

The Ultra trim adds an electric front differential lock, Nappa leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a driver massage function. Both grades come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Fuel consumption for the diesel model is rated at 7.8L/100km on the combined cycle, with emissions listed at 205g/km of CO₂. Towing capacity has been increased to 3,000kg braked, with GWM stating that over 20 component upgrades were made to support the enhanced capability.

Both grades come equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

The 2025 GWM Tank 300 diesel is covered by GWM’s seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, along with five years of roadside assistance and capped-price servicing.
