BYD is preparing to unveil a refreshed version of its popular Seal model, featuring an updated interior and advanced assistance technology. Images released by Zhang Zhuo, BYD's general manager of the Ocean Series, highlight the changes coming to the electric vehicle's (EV) cabin.

The upcoming Seal will debut on August 8, according to Car News China. A significant change includes a new four-spoke steering wheel design with a satin finish, replacing the previous model's gloss black buttons.

The refreshed interior will offer a new Coral Orange color, applied to various parts of the cabin, including the steering wheel, lower dashboard, seats, door cards, and center console. The seat stitching pattern has also been updated to a wave design, in line with the Ocean series theme.

Another notable update is the dashboard, which now features concealed air vents and a continuous screen incorporating a digital instrument cluster. However, the central infotainment touchscreen remains a free-standing unit, measuring 15.6 inches.

The Seal, recently spotted in China, may be rebranded as the Seal 07. It is expected to offer more power, an 800V electric architecture (up from 400V), increased driving range, and enhanced autonomous driving capabilities with a new roof-mounted LiDAR sensor.

Currently, the BYD Seal is the third best-selling EV in Australia, with 4662 units sold between January and July 2024. It remains behind the Tesla Model 3, which saw 13,539 deliveries in the same period.
