2024 Toyota Yaris Cross Price and Specs: Hybrid Only, New Tech and Higher Pricing

Toyota has released details of updates to the Yaris Cross, introducing new multimedia and safety features to the small SUV. The refreshed model includes the latest multimedia system and the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver assistance technologies, accompanied by slight modifications to the vehicle's exterior and interior design for added comfort and convenience.

Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia's Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Franchise Operations, stated that the Yaris Cross has been well-received since its debut in 2020, thanks to its combination of style, performance, and practicality. The recent updates aim to further enhance its functionality, particularly in terms of safety and technology.

The vehicle now comes in seven hybrid variants, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The range includes the entry-level GX, the mid-range GXL, and the higher-end Urban and GR Sport variants, each offering distinct styling features.

An update to the multimedia system includes a larger 8-inch touchscreen display, improved over the prior 7-inch version, and features such as cloud-based and embedded satellite navigation, wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB+ radio, and USB-C ports. The vehicle also sports a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with customizable display options.

Enhancements in safety technology feature the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite, including updated pre-collision, active cruise control, and lane trace assist systems. Higher trim levels now also include a parking support brake with sensors and safe exit assist for the blind spot monitor.

The interior sees minor upgrades like sunvisor mirror lights and rear grab handles in the GX trim, with the GXL trim receiving additional privacy glass. Exterior updates are minimal, focusing on a new grille design, seat trim patterns, and for the Urban grade, new alloy wheels.

The color palette has been expanded to include seven single colors and four two-tone options, providing more customization choices for buyers.

Powered by a 1.5-litre hybrid system, the front-wheel drive versions of the Yaris Cross aim for efficiency, while the all-wheel drive models add an extra motor generator for better traction in varying conditions. Toyota offers a comprehensive warranty and capped-price servicing for the Yaris Cross, aiming to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle reliability.

Prices start at $30,900 for the GX front-wheel drive model, extending up to $39,880 for the Urban all-wheel drive variant, with additional costs for premium and two-tone paint options.
