PEUGEOT Australia has recently announced the commencement of pre-orders for its new model, the 408 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid. The vehicle, with a Manufacturers List Price of $67,990, is scheduled for delivery to customers in the third quarter of 2024. This marks the vehicle's debut in the Australian market as a plug-in hybrid variant.

The 408 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid features a design consistent with the PEUGEOT family, including full LED matrix headlights and three-claw LED lights at the rear. It comes equipped with 20" Monolithe diamond cut alloy wheels. The car's design has been optimized for aerodynamics, a collaboration between PEUGEOT's stylists and aerodynamic engineers.

PEUGEOT offers a range of color options for the 408 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid, including a new Obsession Blue. The car also has an optional sunroof available for an additional $2,000. Inside, the vehicle includes the latest generation of the PEUGEOT i-CockpitTM, focusing on driver-centric ergonomics and technology.

In terms of performance, the 408 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid combines a 132kW PureTech engine with an 81kW electric motor, providing a total power output of 165kW and 360Nm of torque. The car is fitted with a 12.4kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a range of 60km on electric power alone, according to the WLTP test.

The vehicle is supplied with a mode two charging cable, with various charging options including single-phase and three-phase wallboxes and a standard domestic electric plug. The charging times vary based on the method used.

Safety and convenience features in the PEUGEOT 408 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid include Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning. The car also offers connected services for navigation and other in-car functions.

For those interested in purchasing, PEUGEOT has made the 408 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid available for pre-order through its website and authorized dealers. The vehicle comes with a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, an 8-year/160,000km battery warranty, and five-year roadside assistance.
