Abarth Australia has announced the forthcoming release of the Abarth 500e, marking the brand's entrance into the full-electric vehicle market. The Abarth 500e Scorpionissima limited edition is set for a late 2023 release, priced at $60,500 plus on-road costs. The Turismo trim will be introduced in 2024, priced at $58,900, excluding on-road costs.

The Abarth 500e is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor. The motor outputs 113.7kW and provides a peak torque of 235Nm. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.0 seconds. The vehicle features a CCS COMBO Type 2 socket, which supports both domestic and public AC charging, in addition to public DC fast charging at a rate of 85kW. Using a DC fast charging station, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes.

Externally, the Scorpionissima trim is available in Acid Green or Poison Blue and features 18” diamond-cut titanium grey alloy wheels with 'Abarth' side decals. The interior includes an Alcantara finish, sport seats with an Acid-Green Scorpion emblem, and Acid Green & Poison Blue double stitching on the seats and door panels.

The Abarth 500e Turismo will be available in five colours: Antidote White, Venom Black, Adrenaline Red, Acid Green, and Poison Blue.

In terms of sound, the Abarth 500e incorporates the Abarth Sound Generator. This feature reproduces the sound familiar to Abarth vehicles, taking inspiration from the Record Monza exhaust.

With the release of the Abarth 500e, Abarth Australia expands its vehicle range to include electric options.
